The Stewart line has proven to be a difficult one to trace. In 1996, Verda (Olson) Stewart published a history of what was then known about John Watson Stewart, his children, and their families. Information about his parents was scant.
In March 2024, I was able to connect John Watson Stewart to his brother, Alexander Thellar Stewart, and by extension their parents, Archibald L. Stewart and Rebecca Upton. While I have a few tepid leads, tracing the origins of Archibald and Rebecca has so far produced nothing conclusive.
