About Beth

It has been over ten years since I retired, and I’ve been active in genealogy since. It turns out that the research skills of a bookkeeper transfer over quite well to digging out family details. It also helps if you get a little nosy.

My focus is more about fleshing out the stories of my ancestors and less on mere ancestor collection. Even one bit of new information can shift your perspective on a person’s story. And while fewer quality sources matter more than many sources of questionable provenance, those iffy ones can sometimes contain a clue. It’s also interesting to look at data from different angles in order to make connections you might otherwise miss.

Genealogy has also taught me the importance of sharing what you know to decrease the chance that knowledge will disappear. Hence this site. It is very much a work in progress, so please do check back now and again.

Thanks for taking a look!
